CONCEPT
Natural Harmonious Dynamic Connected Coastal
The community centre for the Kwakwaka’wakw Nations reflects the history of their culture and supports their contemporary cultural needs. The traditions of their culture are represented and supported through the aesthetics and functions of the space.
FLOOR PLAN
The floor plan was designed to mimic the dynamic curvilinear shapes in nature and foster connection and unity among the community.
ELEVATIONS
A coastal vibe is established throughout with a natural colour scheme including blues and greens. Cedar wood is highlighted throughout the interior to represent its importance to the culture.
